  1. Tron 2.0 Mods

Mod DetailsThe objective of the Killer App Mod for TRON 2.0 on the PC, is to incorporate elements from TRON 2.0: Killer App for the Xbox platform that were never released for the PC version of TRON 2.0. It also includes other fixes and additions for the game, such as 16:9 and 16:10 Widescreen support. New to Version 1.1a of the mod is compatibility with the Steam version of TRON 2.0, easier installation, v1.1 bug fixes, and restored Multiplayer support in-game on both the CD/DVD and Steam versions. Installing and using the Mod. If you want to use the Single Player expansion in widescreen, you must download and install it after you install the Killer App Mod.Also note that if you want to use Xistence's, you must download and install it first before you install the Killer App Mod.When using Single Player with the Killer App Mod, older saved games will not work and loading them will cause the game to crash.

You must either disable the mod to load old saved games, or start a new game. Since the mod fixes a few issues and adds some things: you will probably want to enjoy the new improved experience in Single Player from the beginning, anyway. When using Multiplayer with the mod, EVERYONE must be using the mod in order to access the new features when playing together. This inculdes the host (server) and all players (clients). This new Version 1.1a of the mod is not compatible in Multiplayer with the older versions. (If you have an old version, you must uninstall it first.)If you try to join a Multiplayer server not running the mod, you will be kicked off and the game will let you know why. If you cannot find any servers running the mod at the time that you want to play online, the mod can be completely disabled to allow you to play with others who do not have it.If there are no servers running the mod: you will need to contact the server operators and request that they start using the Killer App Mod, or host your own server. Please leave any comments or feedback on ModDB in the comments section, or the forum of one of the TRON fan sites. This second trailer showcases more of the fixes to the Single Player levels of TRON 2.0, via the upcoming Killer App Mod v1.2. (Some have been shown in previous trailers, but most are new.)These are Single Player issues I've personally noticed, or had pointed out to me. (Me being team member TronFAQ. Some pointed out by Mister Julius.

Thanks!) But I'm sure I've still missed a few.The original plan was to do two trailers demoing all the Single Player fixes. But there's too much to fit into only two, and yet still keep them at a 'reasonable' length.

All of a sudden, ReShade is not loaded anymore. It used to work with d3d9.dll renamed to dxgi.dll, which is not picked up anymore after launching. Windows 10 May 2019 update? Nvidia Driver update to the latest one? I don't have any convincing idea what might have changed.

Tron 2.0 Mods

I shortly suspected a 'compatibility setting' on the part of Windows 10, after which I quickly deactivated any compatibility settings pertaining LithTech.exe under the entry 'Tron 2.0', through the Compatibility Administrator. Any ideas of your own,? I know my reply is extremely late, and you've probably found a solution already.

But, in case you or anyone wants to keep reading: it seems starting with the Windows 10 May 2019 update, ReShade is broken when used with some games.I've seen people mentioning workarounds, and having varying degrees of success. Though, it looks like the authors of ReShade will still need to update it, for it to function correctly, and not require those workarounds.(I'm seeing replies in that topic, from one month ago – at the time I'm writing this – suggesting the problem with ReShade still exists.)+2 votes.

Hello, I have a question about upcomming Killer App Mod 1.2. I didn't find it in its features description, I apologize if it is there and I just didn't notice. I use eyefinity surround with three monitors. KA version 1.1a solves this quite fine, except for some menu screens like help files and (which is even worse) inventory menu (F1).

These menus can not be used in 5760x1200 resolution, because cursor focus for some items is out of the screen.Does KA 1.2 solve this issue? Tron 2.0 looks great in eyefinity resolution and it is just pity that it cannot be played that way.

I'm re-playing this game after many years, it is very relaxing and immersive even on one monitor, however if KA 1.2 could make eyefinity usable, I would definitely wait for it.+1 vote.

You are running Adblock. We're really sorry for the inconvenience, but please would you disable your ad-blocker? Our adverts are relevant and non-intrusive, they appear only at the top and the sides, never in the content. They don't include auto-playing audio either, they really won't spoil your enjoyment of the site. Thank you in advance!Want to see this appeal go away forever?

Support us on Patreon and we'll make that happen! Click the button on the left to find out more.'

I'm not running an ad-blocker!' -'Why are you doing this?' - Frankly we're struggling to make ends meet here especially since the site got more popular.

The only way we can think to cover our costs is to run ads, but if so many of you keep blocking them.' But I never click ads!'

- Doesn't matter, you should only click them if they interest you. We get paid based on the number of views AND the number of clicks.' You ruined the site!!!1! I want to send you hate mail!!'

-Another fact - We have the software and the power to completely block adblock users from our site, but we're not going to, at least for now. We figure most of you would like to support us and you only installed Adblock because of other sites that aren't so considerate with their ad placement. Please, don't punish us because of them, in the seven or so years I've been a blogger/webmaster I've ALWAYS considered the need to balance monetisation with reader experience. I want to build an audience not send them away.So go on, whitelist us and any other site you love. If it wasn't for ads, the internet would lose a whole chunk of really great niche content like this, which would be a real shame in our opinion. Now, go ahead and read the page if you want to, but wouldn't it be much more convenient if you just whitelisted us?:). Genre: First Person Shooter Release Year: 2003 Developer: Monolith Productions Publisher: Buena Vista Interactive Age Rating: 12+ Playability Status: Perfect Tested On: Windows 8 x64 Availability: Copyright retained - Still soldDisney’s ever popular science fiction movie series has a special place in the heart of many gamers. Set at the height of the popularity of the video arcade, Tron captured the imagination of many a small boy (and not so small boy) and has been the subject of lots of video-games ever since.

In 2003, Monolith games brought us Tron 2.0, a first person shooter set in the neon-lit wonderland of the Tron universe. The clean lines and bright visuals of the ENCOM mainframe translate perfectly into a first-person shooter game and look fantastic even by modern standards. With the 2010 movie Tron Legacy reinvigorating interest in the franchise, now is a great time to re-visit this colourful first person shooter.

Luckily for us, this is yet another PC classic that has been given an extended lease of life thanks to the hard work and dedication of the fan community. InstallationNo special steps need to be taken to install Tron 2.0. Simply install from the two CD-ROMs. You will need a serial number to install the game, so make sure if you buy the game second hand that this is included.

Once the game is installed, read on before trying to run it. PatchingThe last official patch for Tron 2.0 was patch 1.042c. However, we strongly recommend that you use the community built unofficial patch instead. This patch is required in order to use the Killer App Mod which adds some fantastic new features such as full wide-screen support and updated multiplayer. You can download the unofficial patch by using.

Once the patch is downloaded, simply run it and follow the on-screen prompts. When patching is complete, you should proceed to install the Killer App Mod. Widescreen support and other enhancements with the Killer App modThe Killer App mod, produced by the Tron 2.0 fan community, extends and enhances the Tron 2.0 game with all kinds of improvements, including widescreen support. We recommend that all users install this excellent update. The only possible reason to avoid it is if you are running a very old computer, as the mod will push up the minimum system requirements for the game. You can download the mod and read more about it by.Before you try to install the Killer App mod, you should first run Tron 2.0. You only need to run it as far as the title screen, you can then quit and start installing the mod.

In order for the Killer App mod to install, the game must be run with administrator rights. Either right click on the programs icon and choose “Run as administrator”, or use the to change the program to run as administrator each time.If you’re installing the game for another user who doesn’t have administrator access (such as a child’s account, for instance) it may be possible to run the game just by setting file permissions on the installation directory. However it is absolutely necessary to run the game as administrator the first time, so that certain data files can be created.Once you have run the game, exit straight back out and install the Killer App mod.

Installing the mod is straightforward. During the installation you will be asked to choose your aspect ratio and pick a screenmode.

If you want to run the game at 1080p, for instance, you would choose “16:9 Widescreen” under aspect ratio, then “1920×1080” under resolution. After setting your resolution, complete the rest of the mod installation, carefully following the on-screen prompts. When installation is complete, you’re ready to play.

You can change various settings to do with the Killer App mod, (including enabling cheats) by running the “Tron 2.0 Killer App Mod Manager” program that will now be available on your Start Menu or Start Screen. A word of warning, once you have set your custom resolution, do not enter the display options in the game or on the game launcher.

If you do, you will lose your custom resolution settings and will not be able to select them again! According to the Killer App mod documentation, if this happens you simply need to load the “Tron 2.0 Killer App Mod Manager” program to restore your custom resolution. However, on our test machine this didn’t work, we had to manually edit the ‘display.cfg’ file in the Tron 2.0 program folder instead. With the Killer App Mod installed, all visual settings are automatically set to their maximum settings, there is no need to change any of these options in game, so don’t be tempted to play with them.If you need additional help installing the Killer app mod,. Configuring SoundTron 2.0 uses the old EAX sound standard for surround sound effects.

EAX isn’t compatible with Windows Vista or later versions of Windows. If you have a Creative sound card, you can use the ALchemy program to restore full surround sound. Tron 2.0 is fully supported in ALchemy, so all you need to do is start the Creative ALchemy program and click on “Tron 2.0” in the list to enable it. Other types of sound card have their own solutions for EAX games, so check the documentation that came with your hardware for more information.Once this is done, start the game and open the ‘Options’ menu. Choose ‘Sound’ and make sure ‘Enable EAX’ is selected.

Full surround sound effects should now be restored to the game. MultiplayerMultiplayer functionality in Tron 2.0 was provided by Gamespy, who unfortunately dropped support for the game in December 2012.

However, the Tron 2.0 community isn’t taking this lying down and has already started work on a multiplayer fix tool. The tool was not available for download at the time of publishing this article, but keep an eye on the for updates to the project. If you are keen to play multiplayer, you might want to install the Complete Map Pack which is available. You should now be fully ready to jack in and take on the world of Tron 2.0.

A big thank you to the Tron 2.0 communities for helping to keep this classic game alive. You can find all the files we mention in this artcle and loads more.
