The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline.

Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. HernandezReleased on Dec. 31, 2017, a total of 35 third year college students out of 55 examinees from Batangas province passed the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute’s (DOST-SEI) 2017 Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) Examination.Fifty-five out of 6,049 third year college students took the examination for the said program at Batangas State University (BatStateU) last November 19, 2017. Among the 4,529 total number of passers nationwide, Batangas province recorded a total of 67 qualifiers, 35 of which were assisted by DOST Batangas in their application.

These 67 qualifiers were registered as 41 for RA 7687, 9 for Merit and 17 for RA 10612.The JLSS is a scholarship program of the DOST-SEI under the Republic Act No. 7687 or the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994”, Republic Act No. 10612 or the “Fast-Tracked S&T Scholarship Act of 2013”, and the Merit Scholarship Program.A 2-3 year S&T scholarships wait for the qualifiers of this program. Qualifiers under RA 7687 and RA 10612 will be entitled to a subsidy in tuition fee and other school fees, monthly living allowance, book allowance, among others, in the last 2 or 3 years of their undergraduate studies. Scholars under the Merit scholarship program will likewise receive the same benefits except for the pro-rated monthly stipend based on the scholar’s family socio-economic status.A commitment to render service to the country, preferably in their home region, for a period equivalent to the number of years they enjoyed the scholarship is expected to qualified scholars after graduation. The RA 7687 and Merit scholars are expected to work along with their fields of specialization while those under RA 10612 shall serve as STEM teachers in any public or private high school in the country as referred to the protocols designed for JLSS program.According to DOST-SEI, new JLSS scholars will start enjoying the scholarship on the First Semester of AY 2017-2018.“We welcome their entry to the science community and hopefully all these qualifiers will end up working in critical S&T fields for the country in the very near future,” Dir.
