Ableton Live 10 Download

A banger of a post. My one question is regarding the drawbacks of Lite compared to the paid. Because it reads like very little to me. Either way this is amazing.Your comment about Choice is beyond valuable.I started my full-time career as a producer specifically with this ethos in mind.

Choice is the enemy. There are few rules in music production but the main one I follow is: if you’re 70% happy with the synth/sound/idea, render it and move on.I force myself to render most of my synthesis at 70% happy because once committed my creativity goes into overdrive and I have so much fun.

Otherwise I spend months tweaking a fucking beeping noise. Learning to commit and work with the (sometimes) broken crazy shit that you generate is so, so rewarding.Back in 2012, I forced myself to upload the tracks to SoundCloud I considered only 50-60% finished and told myself to literally fuck off.

Lite

I was so tired of my perfectionist utter fear of failure that making music was not fun or dynamic. Anyway I got a record deal on the basis of those “only half finished imo” tracks. Nah, they were finished. Tell yourself to fuck off, commit to restriction. Disappears up and into own assCheers!.

Right now I've been using ableton 9 lite and I can do everything I need to do essentially with all of the unlocked effects in lite. I make up for the effects that aren't included, saved for the regular and deluxe versions of ableton, with plugins. The only thing that bugs the shit out of me is working around only being able to use 8 tracks.

Usually I lay out the most basic parts of the song start to finish, and then I'll condense tracks together. Like I'll have the drum layout for the song, mix it and make sure for the most part it's gonna sit right in the mix but leaving room for tweaking.

Ableton

For example I'll condense my kick, hats, claps into one wav track. So Instead of taking up three or four tracks I can turn it into one. Doing that is seriously such a pain in the ass though lol. Sometime in the next few months I'll be upgrading from lite.
